Weekend 13: Quarantine Perks

This Corona Virus pandemic is making us panic due to paranoia of everything.. Lack of food, getting infected etc, etc..

But one thing I am somewhat thankful for this situation is that I get to spend more time with my daughters and parents. I know that I am not a perfect mother for them, but hell who doesn't want that uninterrupted bonding moments with them for 2 long weeks!

These two got more time to bond and play together, also more time to be like 'cat and dog'.. Well at least they're together.

Our mornings were filled with first thing picture taking, and just before sleeping picture taking again.

I feel sorry for those who were asked to be at the front-line (the frontliners) fighting the COVID19, for they can't be with their families. I just pray them well to survive the situation and be of good health despite being overworked for the community.

Despite these two giving me headaches and making my blood pressure shoots up, I love the idea that we're always together. More groupies.. More cooking sessions.. and of course.. more food trips together at home.

Although I keep on praying that this pandemic will not stay that long.. For the good of everyone/everybody.

My SamgyupSalamat Experience

Samgyupsalamat is one of the most popular Korean BBQ resto in Metro Manila with over 30 branches. Now they just opened their Puerto Princesa Branch a few days ago (Opening were moved on a later date due to some internal company issues)

Now, I was so excited when a friend of mine invited me to have dinner with him at this restaurant. I am a fan of Samgyupsal! :)

Getting inside the resto was a bit hassle for waiting more than half an hour to have a table set for us. But for me it's all worth the wait! :)

Wha I loved about this Korean BBQ resto is that they have a wide meat selection.

Some samgyupsal houses offers only plain pork and beef slices, but Samgyupsalamat has 5 types of pork and 6 types of beef slices.

Options for pork:
  • Daepae (sliced fresh pork belly)
  • Buljib (herbed pork belly)
  • Yangnyum daepae (sliced pork belly with seasoning sauce)
  • Gochujang (sliced pork belly with sweet & spicy sauce)
  • Yangnyum moksal (pork neck bone steak with sweet seasoning sauce)
Options for beef:
  • Beef samgyup (sliced beef short plate)
  • Yangnyum beef (sliced beef short plate with seasoning sauce)
  • Bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef in sweet soy sauce)
  • Gochujang beef (sliced beef short plate with sweet & spicy sauce)
  • Sarsa beef (beef with sweet-style Filipino sauce)

Samgyupsalamat is an Korean BBQ restaurant with an affordable & delicious menu. With its many branches in Metro Manila, you’ll likely find one near you!

Rates

Samgyupsalamat offers unlimited options (5 types of pork, 5 types of beef) and also ala carte menu.
  • Unli pork: P399 (11AM to 3PM) / P449 (3PM to 2AM)
  • Unli pork and beef: P449 (11AM to 2PM) / P499 (3PM to 2AM)
Samgyupsalamat also has ala carte items.

Things you have to know

Here are other things you need to know about Samgyupsalamat:
  • A minimum of 2 people is required per table. If you’re alone, you’ll still need to pay for 2 people.
  • Only 2 plates of meat at a time.
  • Most branches have a long queue. Expect to wait for at least 45 minutes to get seated.
To avoid waiting times, I suggest looking for a branch outside of malls and, if possible, go on weekdays.
