Keeping your Eyes Clear and Healthy During Pandemic

Since the coronavirus broke out last year, people have been limited to the confines of their own dwellings and community, limiting everyone to certain activities, a compliance to a worldwide protocol that is seen to abate if not totally control the health devastation of this pandemic.

Even our bar exams were postponed twice for two consecutive years. NO choice for us, barristers but to undergo online review classes, of which we're more exposed to reading online via laptops / computers of the bar materials we have from the review centers.

Even appointments with healthcare professionals have been controlled, with priorities given to urgent medical matters.  Other health concerns such as eye care are sometimes considered as non-urgent. At the same time, people continue to be exposed to blue light coming from electronic gadgets like mobile phones, computers, and tablets.

Blue light exposure or the long exposure to gadgets and computers may lead to increased risk of eye problems like tired eyes, eye strain, macular degeneration and other eye-related problems for both young and adult persons. Hence, the need for proper eye care.

The importance of eye care should also be given emphasis for the frontliners and health workers who are emotionally, mentally and physically stressed out, not to mention the tired eyes they also suffer from due to long hours of work.

Tired eyes can also affect the quality of their work since it may cause blurry vision, burning or itching eyes, headache, watery or dry eyes, increased sensitivity to light, difficulty to focus, and related conditions.

Blue light exposure and tired eyes should be addressed immediately to help avoid more serious eye conditions.

Fortunately, one pharmaceutical company is committed to help prevent possible eye problems most people face today.

vitaCLEAR, an eye supplement of Vendiz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. was formulated to help slow down age-related macular degeneration or AMD and  help boost our eye health. vitaCLEAR is rich with 10 vitamins and minerals such as Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Zinc, Selenium, Omega-3 Fatty Acid, Vitamin A, B3, B12, C, and E which have antioxidant properties for eye healthcare.

According to medical studies, progression of the disease may be slowed, stopped, and sometimes may even be improved by taking high doses of certain antioxidants including vitamins A, C, E and minerals copper, zinc and selenium.

There is also some evidence that a diet containing enough lutein and zeaxanthin may help reduce the risk of AMD. vitaCLEAR contains these two important nutrients needed to protect our eyes and improve our eye health - - lutein and zeaxanthin, which are present in high levels in dark green leafy and yellow vegetables and provide a potent antioxidant effect.

One tablet of vitaCLEAR each day gives a person an ample dose of the 10 essential nutrients

including Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B12, Selenium, Zinc, and Omega 3 fatty acid for your optimum eye care.

Glam-Up a Bit With Eyelash Extensions

If the eyes are the windows to the soul, then lashes are definitely the gatekeepers. And, it’s no secret that lashes have been having a moment for a while now. Having the fact that wearing face masks is a must and the new normal these days..

So, lately I've been thinking to glam up myself for I'll be turning 40 in a few days time.. and there's nothing I can think of but to have an eyelash extension. I scheduled an appointment to do home service and good thing is that a colleague of mine have a sister that offers home service.

Since it's the era of face masks, and can't wear full face make up, all we can do is just make our eyes look amazing, glamorous and tantalizing by enhancing the beauty of our eye lashes.

Thank God that Monica is around to do the trick!

Speaking of eyelash extensions, here are some few DOs and DON'Ts to take care of it.

  • DON’T get your extensions wet for 24-48 hours after application. To be safe, avoid excessive heat for the first couple of days as well,
  • DO make sure your lash artist uses individual lashes, NOT clusters. Applying one single extension to one individual lash ensures a much more natural look.
  • DON’T use oily products near your eyes. Oil can degrade the adhesive and shorten the life of your extensions. Instead, use oil-free after care products (like oil-free makeup remover) to help your lashes last.
  • DON’T forget to brush your lashes. Brushing both your extensions and natural lashes regularly will keep them looking full and beautiful while also clearing our any debris or bacteria.

In celebration of their 45th Anniversary as the main/sole water utility supplier in the City of Puerto Princesa, PPC Water District announces the availability of GCASH Payment Method as one of their means of paying your water utility bill.

Subscribers/consumers has long been waiting for this payment method since the pandemic cuff off last year. This way, it'll be safer and more convenient paying the bill at the comfort of our home or without leaving our houses.

AS per advice on their announcement, the bill should be paid 2 days prior the deadline/due date so that the app will accept your payment.  Why go all the way to a bills payment center when you can pay your bills from the comfort of your own home?? Isn't it amazing?!?

Her 2nd Pandemic Birthday

Since its pandemic season still and the city is under ECQ, we can't travel to Port Barton or to El Nido this time around.  But then the situation changed because of the Covid Pandemic, that we weren't able to travel for two consecutive years.

Little sister was so excited to woke the birthday girl and sing her the birthday song!

Yzabel was actually in deep slumber. Good thing Yngrid was easily woken up, as we prepped the mini cake for her sister.

It's her 15th and we prepped some gig for her. Made the mañanita for her 12mn as the date changed.

I went home early from work to arrange our rooftop nook with some decors. Just to pump up her celebration.

She got 2 cakes! One sponsored by her tito Richard and one from me and Yngrid. She's so happy about it!

Since it's gonna be just us, family and no friends or relatives coming due to the restrictions on getting together, I didn't bother cooking the food, but just ordered on a caterer and just those food the girls wanted.

Spaghetti, chicken mac salad, beef caldereta, chicken cordon blue and fried chicken  is that that I ordered, with her favorite Sushi platter, sponsored by her tito Richard again. :) (Nakabudol eh!)

I asked a couple of close friends to come over, but because of the MECQ sitaution, they can't. Mary Grace was able to drop by, coming off from work she went straight here.. Yzabel invited just one friend to come over, and she just stayed a short while.

I guess my teen had fun and enjoyed her day despite the fact that it was just us. She said she loved all the food served specially the Sushi platter! It was her favorite!

La Casa Teresa: My Home In EL Nido

This place has been my home whenever I am in El Nido covering events.

The place has a perfect view of the bay and the vast green forest on the other side of the road, you will surely love this place if you are a nature lover. Blended with a helpful and accommodating staff, delicious food served during breakfast, nice and clean room.

'

They offer breakfast buffet for their guests, and the unlimited brewed coffee! They also have tea and instant coffee and fruit juices.

This is what I really love about this hotel, the amazingly beautiful scenery, the best when the sun is setting. You'll surely love seeing beautiful colors of so many hues!

One thing that I don't like about this place is that they don't have internet receptions on some of their rooms. You have to go to the resto area for you to have a signal and get online. I just hope they'll make some improvements about this issue.
